San Diego was the starting and ending point of our 35-day, 10,000-mile journey to Hawaii, French Polynesia, and the Marquesas Islands. We were fortunate to have calm seas, warm weather, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

With numerous days at sea, you are presented with innumerable opportunities for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I hope you enjoy this sampling.

During the third week of the journey, we sailed back towards Oahu so that a passenger could be airlifted to a hospital. The Coast Guard was on time and efficient in removing a passenger in need while we were underway. Well Done Coast Guard!

The island of HawaiÊ»i is the youngest and largest island in the Hawaiian chain. Nearly twice as big as all of the other Hawaiian Islands combined (hence, its nickname, “Big Island”), its sheer size is awe-inspiring. You can travel through all but four of the world's different climate zones here, ranging from Wet Tropical to Polar Tundra, a result of the shielding effect and elevations of the massive volcanoes Maunakea and Maunaloa.

During our stop on Maui, we rented a car and headed towards Hana. During a stop at Ho'okipa Beach, the vista had great views of surfing, turtles, and a beautiful beach. Further down the road, we stopped at the Eucalyptus Rainbow Trees.  So many vistas and stops along the way.

Our drive to the North shore of Oahu allowed us to explore some beautiful beaches and roadside vistas.

On our second day, we did a little shopping and some sightseeing. During a prior tour of Oahu we were

struck by a Story of Vision and Values, which left an impression. Just prior to our departure from Ohu, we had the pleasure of watching the Disney Wonder depart at sunset.

Another island, another rental car. We drove from Nawililwili to Hanalei Bay. Another warm and beautiful day exploring the countryside and beaches of Kauai

During our stay in Tahiti, we explored Papeete, visited Cascades de Faarumai, stopped at the Water Gardens Vaipahi, and circumnavigated the island. With a series of stops along the way.

Mo'orea is a South Pacific island, part of French Polynesia's Society Islands archipelago. It's known for its jagged volcanic mountains and sandy beaches. In the north, Mount Rotui overlooks picturesque ÅŒpÅ«nohu Bay and the settlements around Cook's Bay. Inland, hiking trails wind through rainforest on the slopes of Mount Tohivea. The Belvedere Lookout has panoramic views of the island’s peaks and Tahiti beyond.
